As a future pilot, I would like to say: GOOD SHOW! Tom Cruise in Top Gun was at the peak of his hotness! 1986 was a good year for him. The actors were awesome, and I just can't get enough of this movie! For a movie that's almost 20 yrs old, it's still kickin it! No matter how many times you watch it, it's like it is the first time you watch it. The fighter scenes are awesome! Gotta love that after burn!

Having just seen the movie "Top Gun" for the first time in 2006 twenty years after it's original release I'd have to say it was pretty darn good! The aerial scenes were my favorite! I have never seen anything as magnificent as this in a movie before! They took my breath away and made me feel like I was along for the ride. The scenes on the ground were equally as good between Tom Cruise and Kelly McGillis and the rest of the crew, "Ice," "Goose," and "Vipe." They seemed very realistic of the type of people involved in the Air Force. The way the director Tony Scott pulled this entire picture together was Oscar-worthy! I highly recommend this movie because it has 'all the right moves!'

This movie which was released while I was stationed in Japan in the summer of 1986 is in my opinion 'one of the best of the best'. Even though the acting sometimes is a bit weak, the effects, script and photopraphy make up for it all! Being a huge Cruise fan doesnt hurt either, its a damn shame that T.C. may never get the real recogognition he deserves with a gold statue of his own. I am glad that they scrubed the idea of Gun II, would have ruined the classic. Great Flick!!!!

I understand that they used to be able to have a lot more in PG movies back then, I mean, they give "the finger" twice. The flight scenes (as I'm sure you've all heard) are absolutely amazing. To fly is a big dream for me as a kid. My dad used to bring me and the family on Sunday to the airport to watch airplanes took off. I could watch that for the whole day. It's just amazing to see things that big could fly. The cracking sound of the engine, the devastating force of the thrust and the moment the aircraft lifted itself up were all unbelievable.
